How long does it take to row a boat one mile?

Anywhere from 15 minutes to about 45 minutes depending

on size of boat, if there is alot of wind current on the water,

if your paddling with the current or against it. Almost forgot

arms & shoulder strenght and condition will have be varible

as well.  Probably 30 minutes on the average with a good

current behind you.

What is average? for the boat or the person. The longer the boat the faster it will go. The faster the person paddles the faster it goes if he/she has a good stroke. Then there are the elements that you may be working against such as current, tide, wind, waves, weather. Some boats are designed faster than others. Try the rowing machine in a gym. The ones I have used give a read out of the miles and times. They are accurate except for the elements.
