How long does it take to sell an item on EBAY? Does anyone buy there anymore?

I gave some items to an EBAY trading assistant to place there for me. She's had them like for 3 weeks. She did post the items because I've seen them on EBAY, but so far nobody had placed a bid. These are beautiful items of glassware, china and ephemera. Just wondering.

  1. There are still many people who purchase on eBay but the demand for your items may be very low. Keep in mind that the economy isn't at full strength.  If your starting bid is too high or you've set a high reserve price, you may not get any bids as most buyers on eBay are looking for bargains.

  2. 7 days is the best time for your auction, however most of the bids will hit the auction in the last 6 hours.

  3. Depends on the items- some things go so fast that sellers can't keep up... others sit for weeks.  Are these auctions or fixed-price Buy-it-Now items?

How are the prices she set compared to other sellers with similar items? What are the shipping charges? It's possible she was a little stingy with keywords, so it's harder to find your listings than others...

Lots of people are still buying on Ebay, but the novelty has worn off, so most sales occur on what buyers perceive to be great deals.
