I'm going to Italy in about a week and I was wondering how long it would take for a letter to get from Italy back to the U.S. I'll be there for.... 10-12 days, so if I send letters on the first or second day, will the recipients get them before I return home?

  1. Air mail will probably average 9 days. The best postal service is from the Vatican P.O. in Rome. Purchase your stamps in tobacco shops.

  2. a week

  3. 6-7 days. check local postal office for delivery plans.

  4. during the summer, the Italian post office is notoriously bad.  make sure you put the right postage (80 euro cents) and if you send them the first or second day, they should get there, but it's not guaranteed.  The Italian postal service is notoriously bad.
