How long does it take to tour the Metropolitan Museum of Art?

like on average..I'm going tomorrow.

Should I bring a bag with me or would it be inconvenient?

2 hours and 30 minutes with a ten minute break. Bring a bag. You won't regret it, it's amazing stuff.

I'd say around 3 hours if you don't linger too much.  They have food there--though it's way over priced.  But there's tons of food in nyc, should you be hungry afterwards.  I love that museum.
