  1. You have actually figured out a typical flight destination.

Anyhow, in the summertime there is a daily connection taking 26 hours and 46 minutes. You start at 9:17am with the TGV to Paris, Gare de Lyon, arriving at 12.49am and make it from there by local transport to Paris Montparnasse. From Montparnasse a TGV is departing at 3:50pm to reach Irun at 9:25pm. The night train is leaving Irun at 10:00pm to arrive at Lisbon at 11:03am next day. (2283 kilometer / 1418 miles)

On mondays, wednesdays, and fridays a EuroNight Train is departing at Geneve at 11.25pm to reach Barcelona at 9:01am. Local transport is required to go from Estacon de Franca to Bercelona Sants, where the train to Madrid departs at 10:00am. Arriving at Madrid at 1:23pm, another public transport is required from Puerta de Atocha to Madrid-Chamartin. But no hurry, since the night train will not leave before 10:45pm to reach Lisboa at 8:00am. The total travel time amounts to 33 hours and 35 minutes. (2107 kms/1309ms)

On tuesdays, thursdays, saturdays, and sundays a nighttrain departs from Geneve at 8:44pm to reach Irun at 11:07am next day. From there an Intercity train starts at 2:20pm to reach Madrid Chamartin at 9:20pm. Same night train as before will be used for arrival at Lisboa at 8:00am. The total travel time in this case will be 36 hours and 16 minutes. (2041kms/1268ms)

If you should calculate the times yourself, and find out, that it is one hours less, be aware of the fact, that there is a time-zone change between spain and portugal. Further information on intermediate stops of the trains can be obtained here

An alternative solution would be a flight be Easyjet, taking 1 hours and 30 minutes at a presently cheapest price of 47,95 CHF, or 29,40 €, or 23,30 £, or $45,50.

    Edit:

Sorry, but I have made a mistake. Airtravel time will take 2 hours and 30 minutes based on the timezone change.
