-I've heard that getting immigration visa for Canada differs from country to country ....well if so how long would it take from the countries that you know?(without having representative ofcourse),what's the maximum and what's the minimum and what's the avarage years that this process takes time?

- During this process can you get student visa or work visa from another countries and move to those countries in meanwhile ? Because I have heard in out country it takes between 4 to 7 years to get it and I don't want to stay here for that long waiting it to come...because I might be able to get a student visa for my post graduate degree (which is a 2 years course) and I want to know if I would be able to trace and not loose my immigration visa if I go toother countries before my immigration comes.....

So how long is needed to stay here(in my own country that I'm applying for immigration from)

  1. Dear rain_drops,

My name is Rumen, I work for a immigration fim in Canada. It is true that the times vary from country to country. They also vary depending on how you apply to immigrate to Canada (there are many ways). If you want to know all the possible ways to come into the country here is the link to the government website: http://www.cic.gc.ca or you can also take a look at our website that has a bit more information: http://www.immigroup.com/canadian_immigr...

As to your second question: If you are approved as an immigrant to Canada, you have to be in Canada (or employed by a Canadian overseas, or in the company of a Canadian spouse) for a period of 2 years out of 5 to retain your residency. You can leave the country for your master's but if you are out of the country for over three years then you will lose your residency.

    Best of luck,

    Rumen

  2. start by going to the new updated immigraton website for canada.

    www.cic.gc.ca

it can take 1-3 yrs depending on nation, papework. do you have job skills they can use?

also explore the govt of canada website at www.canada.gc.ca or www.international.gc.ca

    call 1 800 O Canada too.

  3. now if you have a full time job waiting if not between

    6 and 12 months

  4. In the absence of your specific country, I will just direct you to the CIC website so you can go see the actual processing time for all countries with immigration applications to Canada.

As to your question about studying elsewhere while waiting for the processing of your immigrant visa, I suppose you can do that for as long as you maintain your address in your country so the Canadian Embassy can correspond with you.**
