  1. It doesn't take much oil for the drains and pipes to become gunky and start to collect anything that may venture down the drains.  Take some baking soda and sprinkle it down the drain and let it sit for a few mins and boil some pots full of hot water and flush it all down.

I'm not a plumber but I'm still trying to understand why theirs is the one that flooding.  If you guys were the ones pouring grease and oil down your drains your sinks would be the ones getting clogged?.?

  2. the only thing that is supposed to go down a sink is water. not grease,or oil, or anything else.

However if you should choose to do so then be prepared for large plumbing bills. Pipe rodding charges start at 100 and go up. Pipe replacement,,wall replacement,,,furniture replacement,,etc.

I made a lot of money on rice----getting clogged in the pipes.. Everytime i saw rice in a house i smiled--i knew the job was a good one for me.

Oh i just read the previous posts. baking soda will not save you . neither will coffee grounds--only makes it worse--bothe of them.

  3. Grease is what usually builds up in the pipes and it doesn't take much.  You can keep it from building up by throwing baking soda (like 1/2 cup) followed by a cup of hot vinegar down the drain now and again, especially if you wash a particularly greasy pan (i.e. bacon grease), but try to pour off as much excess grease as you can into a can before washing as an added precaution.
