How long does it takes to get a US passport after the oath ceremony?

Hi, I would like to know how long does it takes to get a US passport? I will attending the oath ceremony on September 5th, and I need to travel to oversea within 1 week.My Green Card will be taken back after the ceremony? Thanks for help.

  1. if you are living at one of 13 passport processing locations ie, houston,tx  los angeles newark, new jersey, chicago ill   you can get your passport in 12 hours or less just have your documents in order and photo and be there early got my sons in houston the day of a flight to canada there by 0630 and walked out with a passport for my son at 1600


  2. Once you have your certificate of citizenship, you can apply for your passport.  If you pay all the expediated fees, I believe you can have it within 14 days.  However, if you are traveling somewhere that requires visa approval, it can take 2 weeks for that countries consulate to approve your application, and you need to have your passport before then.
