Almost all golf equipment is manufactured in China where steel prices are in the neighborhood of 50%-75% cheaper (sometimes more) than here or in Canada, and these products are sometimes available in Asia several years before they're available here in the States.

Even companies who engineer and polish their products here, have now taken to farming out their manufacturing work to China. It's good business sense. At the horrible rate China can pay their workers, they can keep prices down to a minimum and still record huge profits.
