  1. It depends on how hard you're willing to practice and learn. If you did play for 3 hours a day every day for a month. You'll be ready for your first amateur competition. Gaining experience then with more practice you'll get more experience and so on and so forth.

  2. uhhh...yeah.

depends how hard you try, and how much you practice

  3. There is a theory that every normal person with hard work can reach the 2300 elo. For someone to get more have to be a natural talent. I was speaking once with an International Master, rated 2400 and he told me that he was spending 3 hours per day from the age of 11 to 18 to get his title. He learned the moves at the age of 7.

  4. Depends on what you mean by "good"?  If you mean "competently sound", you probably, through daily play, and reading some books, in a year or less. To get to better than that, try years.  After that, it depends on your naturally affinity for the game.

  5. Define good.  How long each day will you commit to chess?  1 hour a day.  Five hours a day?

You'll see results in a year, but will you be "good?"

  6. Sorry man its like a natural talent.  Your either good or your not.

  7. Depends on your logic and reasoning skills.
