  1. well 1st of all of all ill answer youre question with a question...how long do you want it to take? how much do you want it? go read,,even lay out lots of money to be taught, but only 1 thing will get you what you want and those fingers hardened up, and youre brain to quicken and to move those fingers from chord to chord, and thats; PRACTICE,     i slept with my guitar [still do] in the begining 5mins here 5mins  get up in the morning take youre friend guitar to breakie 5mins at the table ect... soon it will be 10mins  just remember when things get rough tommy emmanual was where you are now, and it gets easier if you go at youre own pace not youre mates! practice two chords at each time till you get it down easy  like A to E and back again, happy strumming!

  2. I think it depends on whether or not you were meant to play guitar.

I took practice when I was like, 9 or 10, and it was SO difficult. I took it for 5 months, and I never improved, even though I practiced all the time.

Then, a person in my class started taking it, and now he's in a band.

Just try it out, practice a lot, and if you were meant to play, you will progress with ease. =]

    Please answer mine =D

  3. ok well i play the guitar,

it may take you a couple of months to pic up the basic chords

    A, Am, E, Em, E7, G, C, F, D, Dm, D7,

    maybe a bit more,

    umm just keep practicing

your fingers do get sore and tey will get black from strings so you can use a 75mm pick, there are different ones too

start off with the easy songs,

keep your guitar in good condition and tune regulary

    better nik the better,

and yeah hope that helps you

  5. it depends on how much and how hard you practice

my friend who is the lead in his band started at your age and has only being playing for two years but he practices everyday. it takes dedication that's for sure.

i started when i was 8 and i love it but I'm not nearly as dedicated as my friend (I'm still better though ha ha)

tips: try to memorize the notes and basic chords as quickly as possible. the sooner you know those, the easier and more fun it is to get through the beginner music books. from there you can basically do what ever you want and use some online guitar websites to learn chords further up the neck. good luck!!

  6. dude every guitarist is still learning. the learning will never stop no matter how good you are. you can be the best in the world, but you are still learning. if you have a band you have to learn the song that you are playing, the includes the writing part of it.

and it doesn't matter what age you start at
