How long does pain pills stay in your system?

My friend took someone elses pain pills for their migrane and now has a pee test tomorrow. Vicidon I think. How long do they stay in your systtem

Most narcotics have a half life, meaning however long it is between doses (6 hours), divide by 2 (3) and add to dosage time (9 hours).

Vicodin has a half-life of 4 hours, with peak concentration occurring at about 1.3 hours.  After 6 half-lives, or 24 hours after taking the medication, only 1.5% of the metabolized dose will still be in the system.  So I think tomorrow your friend should be okay on the drug test, and besides, taking a pain medication for a migraine headache should be okay to do drug-test-wise (although since they weren't prescribed to that person, it might be a little bit of a problem.)
