  1. Most hard cheese like Parmesan will keep for 6 months and longer, just keep it in a dry place like inside a bowl with a lid or in a baggie.

  2. If the cap is on tightly it can last for a very long time - more than a month...remember cheese like Parmesan is aged....

  3. Because its aged cheese and its refrigerated after being opened, it will last a very long time.  I've kept it several months (maybe even 6 mos) and its still fine and I haven't gotten sick.  What you do need to be careful of, once its open to refrigerate it or else, you might have problems.

  4. A very long time.  It's an aged, rather dry cheese.  I think I've had some in my fridge for at least a year, and it's still good.

  5. When I was a chef and worked in Singapore we had some that was aged 10 years and I have tasted 20 year old stuff, as stated kept dry and covered you will be able to keep it a while, I doubt it will last for 10 years unless you have purchased a couple of tons of it, and full size wheel weights 30-40 lbs uncut.

  6. Fresh wedge parmesan cheese will keep for about a month in the fridge as long as it is kept sealed in like a zipper bag.  Sometimes it will keep longer, maybe 6 weeks.

Pre-shredded bags of cheese would have a best by date on them somewhere.

And that green can of powdered stuff they call parmesan cheese I think that stuff will last a few decades, but really I don't think that stuff is fit to eat, and definitely shouldn't be called cheese.

  7. you can pass it on to your grandkids
