  1. I don't know about about Scotland specifically , but  I adopted twin girls in the UK and it took 15 months before the girls came to live with us and then another 3 years before the adoption was finalised. Hope this helps.


  2. The time from starting the process to being approved is a maximum of 7 months in Scotland and 8 months in the UK.  This is presuming there are no hold ups and problems, but the majority are processed in this time.

    Once you are approved it may then take time to find a child/children and it can then take many months after the child comes to live with you to finalise the adoption.
