How long does the battery life last on the ipod touch before you have to get a BRAND NEW one

Question

My ipod mini (the old ones) has lasted a good two years before the internal battery has gone out, and now it wont work at all unless it is on the charger at ALL times. But even if it has been charging all day, when i take it off it will only last for like 10 mins. So, basically how long will the internal battery last on the iTouch
