How long does the citizenship interview take after fingerprints?

so i went to get my fingerprints taken today in brooklyn,new york and i would like to know how long would it take until i get the letter regarding my citizenship interview? (in new york city) .. what can i expect? etc.. thanks !!

p.s my CITIZENSHIP not my green card for those living under a rock.. l0l

  1. it depends...i agree with the above answerer...my mom  got her interview 4 months after submitting her us citizen application (she submitted application on july 2006)...my dad got his interview about 10 months after submitting his us citizen application (he submitted his application on july 2007- before the fee increase...) btw, we live in los angeles...

    good luck!  hope all the backlog in applications since july 2007 has decreased so that things can get moving faster...


  2. i can only give you the average estimate (for any region) about 3-9 months. But it could be closer to 9 months for you though, for two reasons, 1. you're in nyc and 2. since 2007 many more people have been applying for citizenship (due to stricter travel documents)
