I am always hot and sweaty, and night time is the worst! Can anyone tell me that this may go away after being on the drug a while?

  1. I hate to tell you this but it does not go away.  It does get better in about 3 to 6 months than it is at first--but the excessive sweating is there to stay as long as you are on Prozac.  I have been on it for 10 years and it has helped me tremendously.  However, I have had to learn to deal with the flushing and the sweating, that is why winter is my favorite season.  It helps if you do not drink hot beverages in the afternoon  or in the summer and stay out of excessive heat.  Most of the time now, I can feel it coming on and know what works best for me to avoid or minimize it.  I only feel like a furnace every now and then--but it is still there.  Sorry, wish the news was better, but just weigh your benefits against the cons and see if it worth it for you.

  2. The condition you're describing sounds like Hyperhidrosis. That's the excessive sweating of the head, face, hands, feet and armpits no matter the temperature or conditions.

The sweating is erratic, unpredictable and uncontrollable. You do have some options.

To stop the excessive sweating try:

    1. Drysol - a prescription deodorant

    2. Drink more water to lower your body temperature.

    3. Drink Green Tea at night

    4. Try Certain Dri (non-prescription deodorant)

    5. Avoid spicy foods and alcohol

    6. try Iontophoresis treatments. You can learn about them through the source link below.

    7. There's something called a Sage Tea Soak solution. Again, you can learn about it through the source link below.

    8. If the sweating is bad enough, some people will opt towards ETS (Endoscopic Thorasic Surgery). This is, however, a LAST resort.

You can find tons other suggestions and natural solutions through the link I've provided.

    Best of Luck!

  3. It's a side-effect... time to speak to your doctor?
