  1. Less than a week.

  2. AROUND A WEEK

  3. depends on your body, I had my tongue pierced a long time ago and it swelled very little on the first day and was gone the next.  I took Naproxen to help the swelling and the pain.  The pain lasted a little longer, but it was mainly when I ate. Keep and eye on it, you should have a type of scab in a couple of days that's white and will be on both sides of your tongue, but if your tongue gets discolored or it swells to the point that you can't eat or drink then you need to see the doc, because it could be infected.  I washed my mouth with a water and salt mix every time I ate, drank, and smoked for a week.  I just carried the bottle with me...  I turned out alright.... you will be too.
