its time to start weening your baby off your breast now , at this stage your baby should only  nurse 2 or maybe 3 times a day .

sometimes baby's nurse on both b*****s . but your baby is between 5 - 6 months now its time to start introducing him/her to cups or bottles ..

My 6 month old little fella varies his nursing (keeps me on my toes).  So i tend to go with the flow, but most of the time he has both b*****s and nurses every 3 hours during the day and wakes twice for a feed at night.  He has always been a fairly regular feeder though.  He usually nurses for about 5-10 minutes on each side.  Sometimes he'll only have one breast though, just depends on his appetite for that particular day and how distracted he is :)

Just a note to 'student', the World Health Organisation advocates 6months of exclusive breastfeeding and continued breastfeeding to at least 12 months, after this time mum's are encouraged to continue to breastfeed as long as both she and bub are comfortable to do so.  Your advice to wean from the breast flat out wrong.

My 6 month old daughter has a BIG feed in the morning around 7am (about 10 minutes each side)

she then feeds 3 and a half to four hourly.... a total of three more feed for the day. Each feed is both sides and about 5 minutes each side and followed by some solids. Last feed for the day is around 6pm then bed for the night
