  1. Horses usually live about 25 years... although there was this horse at my barn who was 45 when he had to be put down because he couldn't get up after laying down. (Obviously we didn't ride him anymore) As for the age you need to buy one... If you want a trained horse the youngest one you could find would be 9, maybe 8. Any younger and you would have to train the horse yourself, which I think is way better because then the horse feels more like your own, since you trained it and all. :)

  2. they live to about near 30 years old, and the chepest time to buy one is whan it is young.

  3. horses can live anywhere from 25 to 40.

it isn't very normal for them to live to 40 though.

i only know of one person who had a pony that old.

but i just gave my 26 year old arab/NSH to my trainer and he is full of energy and acts like a four year old stud...

i bought an 11 year old thoroughbred quarter horse.

if you are a beginner i would reccomend getting a horse anywhere from 10 to 17 or upwards. many older horses have many many years of riding and showing left in them. so dont let age bother you!

  4. like 30 or longer if healthy i would say like 6 but it really does not matter but if you want that horse for a long time i would get a 6 year old

  5. horses live around 20-30 years. it depends if they've been ill or even what breed. a good age to buy one just depends on your experience. i've had horses my entire life, so i bought one early b/c they'd been in my backyard my entire life. i'm 15 and i've only had 3 horses. so def. make sure you are ready. have you taken lessons? you want to take lessons at least a year. know all your gaits? Know how to lunge, walk w/ them, trailer them, clean them all over, and know some of their basic illnesses. Colic etc. You need to know this so that if they were hurt, you would know what to tell the vet.

  6. for a beginner?

    intermediate?

    advanced?

For a beginner you want to look for a 10-15 y/o broke horse, the best ones are former ranch/feed lot horses nothing spooks them

For intermediate a good horse would be 6-15 years old

For advanced 3-4 just green broke and you are able to finish off the training.

You can safely ride a horse till its about 25, some you can ride longer, and they normally live 28-30 y/o

  7. the average life for a horse is about 30.

the best age to buy one is around 8 because they have been broken and are young but not green and not too old.

  8. a horse lives from 25-51 yrs

i say 51 becasue that is the recorded olding living horse.

I dont know if you mean the horses age or humans

    lol

it all depends on your experience

  9. Horses can live up to 30 years, but usually around 20-30 years....umm it really depends on what you want to do...if you want a trail horse I'd suggest a older calmer horse who has ''done it all'' if you are looking for a show horse, look for one with a bit of experience so you arent both green :)

  10. they live to about 30...It depends what you want your horse for and how experianced you are as to what age to buy one at i would say about 10-12 is a good age.

  11. What age to buy one depends totally on your experience and skill level and what you are going to do with it and how soon that you want to do it.  A horse can live up to 35 yrs or more, seriously...that doesn't mean that they are serviceable when they are that old, but your question was, "how long do they usually live?"  Of course, this all depends on the care that they get along the way.  One of my horses if almost 25 yrs, and does beautifully on the carriage doing weddings.  No one would ever guess his age, because of the care that he has received.  If you are anxious to ride, then get an older horse, one that is ready to do what you want with it.  If you really want the experience of raising a colt and breaking it, training it to ride and etc, then a baby wouldn't be out of the question.

  12. A horse can live to be well over 30 years old, it's how long they will actually be useful that is the question.

If you are talking about what the best age of the horse to buy, I tend to like buying when they are between 7 and 10 years of age, just because it means you'll have (hopefully) a long time to work with your horse.

  13. the age really depends on how experienced you are

    if u are like 10

if not then like a first horse then 15-20 is usally a good age

  14. It depends on the breed and the condition of the horse. The best age to buy one depends on how mellow you want your horse. If you want an excided horse, then I would get an age from 5-15, and a mellow horse ages 18 and up
