How long dose it take to send a text from one country to another?

I Met this girl on Holiday shes from Liverpool, but i sent her a few text and she only replied like well about a day after i sent them, it couldnt take that long to send?

Dose anyone know how long it takes to send a message from one country to another then?

Im from Ireland and shes in Liverpool.

I'm from Boston, USA and I talk to Japan all the time. Sometimes its instant, other times his phone is off or the time difference. best wishes.

When I am using a phone of the same type as someone else (as in both have tmobile) it takes exactly 1.5 seconds. No matter how far away there are.

But when you have phones of different types it takes varied amounts of time.

Sometimes what happens is the text message gets lost in the servers and is either deleted or sent a day later.

It doesn't surprise me that it takes her that long to reply, being on different sides of the country. Text messaging isn't perfect yet.

It should take about a second and a half. I have personally texted from the united states all the way to Bahrain in the middle east and they have texted back in less than a minute. I think that the problem lies with the phones, not the speed of the text.
