  1. it depends on what u need ur glasses 4. If you wear them all the time, then u can get contacts in about 2 weeks to a month. if u need them 4 distance only, u can get contacts in 6 months to a year (depending on how far u can c up 2) but if they're reading glasses, it may take a lot longer up to never beacuse u dont need them all the time

  2. I went straight to contacts for the most part.  I had really bad side effects when I tried to wear glasses.  Contacts have less minification/magnification than glasses because they are directly on your eye.  In some cases they are easier to get used to than glasses

I only correct the vision in my left eye and my right eye is normal.  I spoke with my doctor about it and he knew my situation and the problems I was experiencing.  He prescribed me a contact lens that was lower than my actual prescription.  I still had some problems but they were not nearly as bad and did not last very long.  I ordered glasses with the new prescription a few months later.

  3. Depends on how often you wear your glasses,  but contacts are not always good for your eyes. Try normal glasses first, 2 months

  4. What your dr. said doesn't make sense to me, but it takes about 2 weeks to get used to a new pair of glasses.

  5. I work for an optometrist and the norm is after having glasses for a year you can get contacts, sometime sooner, but no less that 3 months.
