Question:

How long for a US visa for I-30 permanent resident?

I am an American citizen, and have just married a Chinese citizen. We married in China, and I want to bring her back to the United States with me.

I want to know if anyone has any experience with this, and approximately how long it will take for USCIS to process the application.

I have not filed yet (we are still working on completion of paperwork, translations, etc.), but I will be filing the I-30 form for application of a relative visa.

I know about the 2 year "probationary" period, but I want to know how long it will take before she can come to the United States.

Any other pertinent information would also be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

Brad

  1. it should be about a year for the whole process to complete. once she has the visa in her passport, she can enter the US right then and there.

mine took one year and one month.
