  1. i am a runner for more long distance things like a 5k and my legs are about 3 feet long

  2. I'm sorry but this is a very poor question.  People should run because they enjoy it or want to be fit.  They shouldn't run just because they want to "look" the part.

  3. Nothing wrong with your question at all. I've coached lots of young girls; everyone runs for a different reason. Beautiful legs are as good a reason as any — and you are in the right sport!

The short answer is one you will really like — not very long at all. You'll notice improved tone in just a few weeks (running just three times a week).

Not all runners, however, develop long, smoothly shaped calves. Some develop quite a "bulge" in the lower calf. These aren't what you see on the magazine models, but they look great on an all-state 800-meter gal!

Your genetic makeup (DNA) will determine what finally happens, but if you just want great tone, running should produce desired results. Work yourself up to 20- to 30- minute runs three times a week. Vary your pace quite a bit (don't just jjjoooggg!).

    Hope this helps!

Beauty and running. One and the same.
