How long from Colombia to Chile? (by bus)?

Question

I want to travel to all the countries in South America on one journey. How long do you think it would take, by bus, to go from Colombia, down through the east coast (Venezuela, brazil, etc) down to Chile, then back up through Peru and Ecuador?

Has anyone out there done this?

To do it anywhere close to right.. Three months. There is just too much to see and do.. in three months you can only hit the highlights.

How long it can take is not the same as how long it should take. To make the journey worthwhile, you should plan time spent in each of those countries. If  you want just to say you drove around South-America, that is another story.
