How long has yahoo answers been open to all our Q&a's?

i heard that Y/A has been on here for about 4-5 yrs,i really don't know

Y!A started as a test site with very limited number of users, then was released to the general public in late 2005, early 2006.

I did try to find a more specific date for you, but it seems to be hiding quite well.  

But if you were to type in Yahoo Answers into the search field at the top, you will get quite a long list, but if you scan the time frame these questions were asked, and click on ones that say 1 year ago, the questions/answers were actually longer than that.  Doing a quick peek, one user I found became a member Dec 8/05.
