Just curious as to how long someone can go out and enjoy a day of boating on an 80 gallon tank of gas. Boat is a Baja 23 Outlaw.

  1. Depends if your sking> fishing> How fast & how far> Go fast boats can burn 50 gals per hr WFO

  2. i would think in terms in hours not a day,if you run out of fuel your only say you got a leak somewhere

  3. all day/ depends on how hard you drive it and the size of the engine

  4. Probably 3 or 4 hours of run time.

  5. 10 Hours

Check out the below link for a detailed test

  6. Generally speaking, manufacturers install a fuel tank that is large enough for a day's use. However, this does not mean that the boat can be run at 100% power all day long without going through the whole tank. Marine engines should be run at 70% throttle for cruising, maximum. the faster you go, the faster the gas goes. 100% power will give 100% speed, and will go through a tank of gas very quickly.

I don't know what a 23 Outlaw is, but don't run it at top end, unless it is a real emergency. It is like throwing fuel overboard.

    Regards,

    Dan
