I had my dental implant 4 months before. The doctor said me to come after 4 months for the final checkup and to insert the crown (teeth). I just wanted to know that is it possible that i can delay for some 6 months more for the crown or it is very necessary to insert ?

  1. Hello...No you can not wait...unless you have a temporary crown on the implant post to keep it properly positioned...When a tooth or implant post is unopposed for a long period of time they will attempt to move out of the gum bone until they make contact with an opposing tooth or structure.....If you wait to long you could find yourself with a failed procedure and one that may not be able to save..... Good luck and I wish you well.

  2. Nope....it has to be restored quickly....you need to do what was advised, or risk failure of the implant....this is too large of an investment to lose!
