How long is a 24 hour notice good for?

In my lease it says my landlord must give me 24 hours notice (when "reasonable") to enter my apartment. How long do they have though? For instance, I asked when I should expect them and was told when they have time. Then when I asked for 24 hours notice, they they already gave me notice, then said either Friday or Saturday. My quesiton: Is there a time period they have after that 24 hours for it to still be considered 24 hours notice? Someone can't say, "Oh I gave her 24 hours notice a year ago, so it's still valid!" Or can they?

I would say they can. Once the room is ready, and they stand by what they say that you can move in at a date, move in! I would think the 24 hour rule sounds more like AT LEAST 24 hours so the tenant will not get last minute information. If you move in on the date they said, and they are unable to provide the room then, then that is really last minute without information and you can argue.

Assuming you are asking them to come fix something?  They tell you they will be there Friday or Saturday.  That's fine.

READ your lease.  It says at least 24 hours notice when practicable.   So they can tell you today they'll be her next Friday and that's fine because they gave you MORE than the minimum required notice.  If you have a problem with this, request that they come when you will be in apartment, and give them large window of time to come.

Saying they will be by Fri or Sat does count as 24 hr notice -they are actualy giving you more than the required notice.

There are no laws regulating more than 24 hr notice - a landlord can tell you they will be over next week and that is legal as long as they give you proper notice. The point of 24 hr notice is that they cannot come over in LESS than 24 hrs. That is the only part that is regulated.

EDIT: NO  - comming sunday would require another notice.

usually they have to post the notice on your door.  and from that time notice was posted to the next twenty four hours should be when to expect them

So you have 24 to 48 hours notice. do not understand what the problem is? You cannot hold them to the minute.
