It useually lasts about three weeks, and if you are really tired of that then you can get her spayed, you don't have to though, your dog, your choice.

the others answered well..  I would add that you should keep separated totally for 4 weeks just to be on safe side.. you might want to talk to your vet and see if they have anything to reduce odor for her.  Also invest in some b*****s britches, pooch pants  or diapers as some call them.  It won't stop it but it will slow down chance of problem.

Dogs are in heat about 3 weeks.  She can get pregnant ANY time during the heat cycle.

Keep her away from males and schedule a spay to prevent an unwanted litter.
