How long is a college football game?

I joined Marching band and I'm just curious how long college games are. In the town I graduated HS from, we were too small for a team. I'm new to this.

I think that its 12 minute long quarters, so each game is 48 minutes.

The average D1 A game lasted 3:22 in 2007, untelevised games are about 20 minutes shorter.  There are some rule changes this year that they hope to knock down the game time closer to the NFL average of just over 3 hours.

College Football games can last about 3 hours... Unless it goes to overtime. The 2007 Arkansas-LSU game lasted over 4 hours!
