How long is a cricket's lifespan?

I have a pet black field cricket, he's just a baby. I've got a cotton ball soaked in water for its water and some soggy oats for food, along with some bread. And it's pretty warm in my house, we don't have an air conditioner. It's not blistering hot but not cool, either.

So the lifespan of a black field cricket from baby to death. Thank you! =D

  1. Crickets only live a few weeks. The crickets hatch from eggs laid in the ground in the spring or early summer, and are adults within about 3 months. They breed and then lay their eggs in late summer. They then die of old age or will freeze if the temperature lowers to 32 degrees. Incidently the the higher the temperature gets the more a cricket chirps. http://mathbits.com/MathBits/TISection/S...

  2. Well first off for food try giving him some dog food, or crushed cherios, I breed crickets to feed my lizard, and the do pretty well with that. Or even use fish flakes, they love those. And for water crush a kleenez and soak it for the water each day. They can live for a year if taken care well enough. Usually crickets have company all their life so trying finding yours a few friends. Maybe you can have enough to breed. Check out this site.
