How long is a highschool transcript officially certified by a German Embassy valid for?

My documents were certified on the 20th of may 2003. Are these still legally valid? Do certifications expire after a certain time? I plan to utilize these documents in applying to a German Institution of Higher Learning. Do I need to get these documents recertified by the German Embassy?

Present the documents again to the German Embassy for certification to make sure that it will be valid so as not to affect the visa application.
