Also, does the breast milk ever run out after you have a child or does it keep producing?

  1. There is no specific time for you to stop breastfeeding, you can just stop when you don't feel you need to any more or when the baby looses interest. Introduce it to solids and see which it prefers. Breastfeeding is good for calming down toddlers and gives them comfort, however, you can stop when you like.

  2. you stop when your child is 4 months and when they r 5 or 6 months old  you make milk in a bottle and cereal mixed so they wont get hungry  or they won't get thirsty

and...................................... your milk in your breast do not run out so if you have another child the milk  is ready

  3. I plan to breastfeed until my daughter is about a year old.  There is not "set time" to stop breastfeeding.

  4. there is no set time at all. babies will get the most benifit if you do it for at least 3 months. but will still benifit greatly if you only do it for 3 days. some moms even do it for 2 years!! ( hmm, that would be somewhat odd to me) but there is no exact or right time. its when you , or even THE BABY want to stop doing it. if your breastfeeding and all is going well and everything and you think you want to stop tho, thats your choice, and you have the right to make it. its your body.. you gave up your body for 9 months to that baby ya kno!!! u can have it back after giving birth. there is formula out there that works just the same as b.feeding.

  5. I breastfed my first daughter until she self-weaned at 3 years, 3 months old. My second daughter just weaned and she just turned 4. I know some might see this as odd (and I've heard worse than "odd") but according to the World Health Organization the average age that children wean is 4 1/2 years old. La Leche League could give you a lot of great info. Don't be worried if you little ones just keep on going, they'll wean when they outgrow the need, or you could gently encourage them to give it up.

If you are worried about what people think just remember that it's just society's standards, so who cares?

  6. I breastfed my daughter until she was 2.  I started cutting back at 18 months but stopped completely at 2.  She never took a bottle but started using a sippy cup with meals at 1, I would just supplement her eating.  Then at 18 months it was only at bedtime...just a quick cuddle / feeding before bed.  Then we stopped.

Its up to your milk supply, your desire, and your baby.  It was easy for me to feed her until then, but due to my friends work schedule compared to feeding times, her milk supply dried up around 6 months.

  7. Usually till about 18 months or 2 years for optimum benefits, but most moms go about 1 year and then switch baby over to regular food. The breast milk will decrease in production as the baby stops nursing, so you usually try to taper off - both for baby's sake and for yours.

  8. Until ur baby want no more!!!

    It won't run out!!

  9. FOREVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!...

  10. First the milk will keep being produced as long as you are nursing, which is how some mothers can continue to breastfeed well after 1 or 2...breastmilk is all based on supply and demand.  If demand is there supply is there.

Next, how long a mother breastfeeds is totally up to her and what she is comfortable with.  I nursed all 3 of my babies until they were 1.  I also started them on cups at 6 months, and they never had a bottle.  Personally I figured since most babies get a bottle until they are 1, nursing until they are 1 is no different.  So, it is totally up to the mother and the circumstances.

  11. You should breastfeed until the baby is no longer interested, or the baby walks up to you and says "Mom, can I go to the mall with my friends?" then tries to latch on.

Your milk generally won't run out as long as your baby is nursing daily.
