How long is a temporary fix for battery connections?

My drive to work is about 45 minutes freeway.

If your talking about your plyers clamped on the cable then One day... if you talking about changing the end out then if you do it right then it well last a long time ... I would put some grease on the wire before you put it in the clamp that well stop any on set of corrosion as well a put just a smear around/on the post and clamp

What do you mean by temp fix? If you have changed your battery terminal connections, then it is not temp but it lasts life long of the car. Your length of drive has nothing to do with batteries. Batteries are mainly there to crank your car and start it.
