  1. girl, there is no quarters/periods in volleyball. you just play 3 sets and usually start at 7 and go to 25. dont ask me why but you just do. well thats for select at least. an average volleyball game usually lasts from about 45 min. to 1 1/2 hours. but thats all you wanted to know so yeah.

  2. Volleyball isn't measured on time, its meaused on points you score.

    FOR MODIFIED:

In one volleyball match, there are 3 games.

Games are played up to 25 points, and rotate the side of the court for each game being played.

    FOR JV:

The team plays 5 games, but if one team already one 3 games, then you end the games there.  Games are stilled played up to 25 points and rotate the sides of the court.

    FOR VARSITY:

The team plays 5 games, no matter what, The games are played up to 25 points and rotate the side of the court for each game.

The higher the leval pf play is, usually the longer he game is.

So, a Varsity game would be longer than a JV game becuase the people playing are more advanced, so the volleys tend to be a bit longer.

  3. As mentioned above, volleyball is not timed.  Most volleyball matches are 2 out of 3 or 3 out of 5.  The first games (or sets) are to 25 and the final is to 15.

If you want a guess about the time for a match, you can estimate a minute a point for the winning team.  If it is a 2 out of 3 and it only goes 2, it is about 50 minutes.  If it goes all 3 and the third is to 15, then it will last about 65 minutes.  If it is a 3 out of 5, it will last from 75 minutes to 115 minutes.  These are averages only.

  4. well actually there isnt any periods or anything but like the younger grades have play up to 25 and they play best 2 out of 3 and if they go on to a 3rd game they go up to 15.

  5. It depends. If your opponent is really good and your not, I'm sorry to say this but it might be a quick game.At least an half an hour. If your going back and forth than it could probably take and hour or an hour and a half.

  6. It's not a determined time. They play the best 3 out five games to 20 or 25 points, I'm not sure, but they keep going after the points are reached, until one of the teams win with a2 point difference.

    EX: 32-30

  7. When the ball contacts the floor within the court boundaries or an error is made, the team that did not make the error is awarded a point, whether they served the ball or not. The team that won the point serves for the next point. If the team that won the point served in the previous point, the same player serves again. If the team that won the point did not serve the previous point, the players of the team rotate their position on the court in a clockwise manner. The game continues, with the first team to score 25 points (and be two points ahead) awarded the set. Matches are best-of-five sets and the fifth set (if necessary) is usually played to 15 points. (Scoring differs between leagues, tournaments, and levels; high schools sometimes play best-of-three to 30; in the NCAA games are played best-of-five to 30.)

  8. Unlike basketball and football, there is no way of knowing how long a game of volleyball will be. Like the others have already said, whoever wins the first 3 out of 5 sets wins the game. How long that can take can be anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. (I've played in both)

  9. it depends. in varsity games in high school it could be anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and a half. in jv it's probably shorter.

usually in one game, there are a minimum of two sets. if one team wins both these sets, they win the game. but if one team wins one set and the other team wins the other, then it goes into a tie breaking set.

  10. there are no minutes in a volleyball game.  It depends on how many games for younger kinds like up to junior varsity in highschool, it is games best 2 out of 3.  The first two games are up to 25, and the 3rd goes up to 15 points.

In varsity volleyball and college ball, it is best 3 out of 5.  The first 4 games fo to 25, and the 5th goes to 15.

  11. They changed the rules in 2007. Junior High plays Best 2 out of 3, all games going to 25. Plus you have to win by 2. In High School and College it is best 3 out of 5. All of the games going to 25.
