How long is it before chickens are born do they lay eggs???

we have got baby chicks abour a mounth ago and i was just woundering how long it will be before they start laying eggs.

Do some google research on Chickens.  If you want the hens to lay eggs to eat- you have to make sure some of them don't start setting!  Then they have to be moved etc etc....

hens start laying at 22 weeks of age.

Depending on what type they r hens usually start between 18-22 weeks.Their first attempts may not be the highest quality but it doesnt take long for them to get the hang of it.Be sure to switch over to a laying pellet or crumble when the r old enough so that the get the extra calcium they need for egg production.
