i know it won't be right when they get there because they only get 5 min. to call their parents.

but when can i actually get his address?

i was just wondering because i wrote him letters in advanced that he could read whenever he wants so he won't get lonely and depressed and i dont want it with him when he goes there because the Navy officers might want him to send it back here, because 'it's not allowed'

that is acutally my 2nd question if thats okay. can he brin envelopes with letters with him when he goes to boot camp?

because it didn't say on their booklet that they're not or they are allowed to bring it.

sorry this seems long now.

THANK YOU THOUGH in advance.

God Bless : )

  1. phone call about six weeks

letters after the first sunday he is out of "P" Days which is about a week.

atleast that was my situation in '05, i hear they got soft and give phone calls afte the third week now...

  2. Well he can bring these "letters" but not in an envelope.  He's gonna have to fold them up and put them in a tube sock that will be issued to him and stuffed into the waste of his sweat pants. A form with his address will be sent to his parents and should arrive between one week and two weeks of him getting there.  He will only be allowed to send mail on Sundays so don't get upset because he is not sending you mail every day. Also do not send any "questionable photos" because the RDC's (Recruit Division Commanders) may confiscate them after they have embarrassed him in front of the Division.  You can still send a few photos every once in a while.  Do not send him an excessive number of letters, two per week should be plenty.  If he has a "nice" RDC they may make him only do like 50 push ups per letter received.   It's all up to the RDC. Some may be less lenient. Any other questions you can send me an email jacobpheuss@yahoo.com

  3. the address he has on record( most likely his parents) will get a form letter with his mailing address.  that should arrive wityhinth efirst few weeks.

he can keep NOTHING that he brings with him, except for what is listed on the paperwork he was given.  chances are any letters to give him beforehand he will not be permitted to keep.

  4. they can have materials to write with, he will send you a letter as soon as he can with a adress on it, he wont get a addy for the first few days until they get split up in their groups and everything.... your just going to have to be patient....

dont want it with him when he goes there because the Navy officers might want him to send it back here, - if you mean your letters - they might sit there and have him lock it up in with their personal clothes that they arent allowed to have but i doubt it
