i know it suggests like, only 6-8 hours on the box, but can that limit be stretched, if you can't really take it out for another hour or two? (on a plane, in a concert, swimming race etc.)

what's the longest time you've ever had a tampon in?

  1. It's totally fine to leave it in for a few more hours than recommended.  The dangers from toxic shock syndrome happened back when tampons were made with these moisture-absorbing crystals in them that sucked up way more moisture than they should have, which made it really easy for the tampon to scratch up the inside of your v****a when you removed it.  TSS happened when those scratches got infected, not from the tampons themselves.  Now tampons are not made that way, but tampon manufacturers leave the warnings in place for liability reasons.

Ten hours will not kill you.  I think the longest I've ever had a tampon in was like 12 hours.

  2. NO U CAN DIE FROM TSS DONT!!!!!!!!!!!!

dont just wear a pad if it needs to be in longer

  3. i would only leave it in for up to 8 hours because the longer you have a tampon in, the higher the risk of getting Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS). TSS is caused by staph bacteria that are already around your v****a and go towards the moist tampon. if its in there for two long, you can get infected.

    hope i helped!

  4. NEVER leave it in longer. You'll have to find ways to change it often or use pads on planes, concerts, etc.
