  1. You can buy chemical kits for cleaning pools in Argos, they are on the same pages as the pools.

  2. A day or two. No chemicals, do to the child's skin.

  3. You would have to check this out with the supplier, but hot tubs use chlorine like swimming pools. You would have to know how much water the pool holds so you dont put to much in.

  4. Hello.  It's good that you are concerned about the water quality in your child's pool.  A lot of people don't even think about that!

Typically a pool of this sort should be drained and refilled every couple of days or so.  However, there are several things you can do to extend this period.

    1.  Have everyone using the pool shower before getting in.  That helps a lot.  Having them wear bathing suits that are only used in the pool will help too, as shorts, t-shirts and other clothing tend to bring in contaminants, detergent residue, etc.

    2.  Watch the clarity of the water closely.  Any cloudiness or off-color is a warning sign.

    3.  You can add a cup or so of regular chlorine bleach to the water as a disinfectant.  Chlorine bleach is sodium hypochlorite, exactly the same chemical used by most commercial swimming pools.  At most add a cup every couple of days.  This will not cause any significant skin irritation, but children should shower after using the pool as well as before when using any chemicals in the water.

    4.  If you can, cover the pool whenever it is not being used.

    5.  Even doing this, the longest you should go without draining and refilling is probably a week or so.  If a child brings contaminants into the pool, especially fecal matter (poo), then drain and refill immediately.

  5. Hi. Yes there are loads of things you can do to keep your kids paddling water clean.

A few tips, try to cover it after use! And before going in, have a quick shower, this gets rid of microbes, bacteria and general dirt which can end up in the pool!

Mainly 'Chlorine' based pool liquids can be bought from specialist mechants. Reading carefully the instructions, the addition of these will kill germs etc, and keep your water safe. Note that too much can be harmful to your children, so read the instructions!

Seives etc, taking the leaves and bits off the top as they appear is a sure way to guard the life of your pool.

    Hope this helps.
