my friend has done similar things in the past and has done jail time but its been awhile since hes been in trouble. He went in AUG 7, 2008 but doesn't yet know how long he has to stay. He lives in Georgia and is 19 years old. So, what would more than likely be the outcome?

  1. Ouch.  He has obviously been arraigned.  Has his pretrial been set, or did he s***w up and plead guilty at his arraignment?  He could be locked up for six months or more before he goes to trial, provided he cannot make bail/bond and the outcome of a conviction is likely to be several years considering a juvenile history and the fact he is now an adult.  Having done "similar things" previously, the courts may determine to charge him habitual, which will double the time he would normally do.

  2. I think it is 6 months, but it depends on what your kind of record your friend has with the police

  3. prior, probably 6 months. or a year. plus probation violation. maybe 2-3 years.

a while is 5-10 years, not 1 year.
