  1. Usually, each class is worth three credits. You will need a certain amount of credits to graduate. Each semester, which is typically about 12 weeks long, you can take 12-18 credits if you are a full-time student; it is possible to take more than that. Some classes are only worth 1 credit, like PE and some are worth more, like Labs. Hope that helps.

Also, a four year university has 8 semesters. You can finish easily in 8 semesters, but you can take more and if you take classes during the summer, you can finish in less than that.

  2. Each class is worth a number of credits, usually 3 to 4.  Typically, an Associates Degree is 60 credits, so near 20 classes to get a 2-year degree.

A semester is half of a school year.

  3. Anything under 12  credits is considerded part time and 12+ credits is full time. One semester is usually like 4 months or so.  Usually your harder and higher level classes are more credits. For example a lot of general ed classes are 3 credits where your main classes like calculus are 4 credits. If u can afford it and don't have another job or family that'll occupy a lot of you time take 10+ credits, I would suggest alteast 12..good luck!

  4. Credits are just verification saying you passed the course you took. The more credits you have, the better.
