You can pick rhubarb fresh from the garden when the stem is very purple and strong. It last in the refridgerator for as long as celery ( 4 days at most) and can be eaten dipped in sugar raw or baked in pie or made into a jam. Check out free recipes on the net. Remember DO NOT eat the leaves they are poisonous.
