How long is the average wait in line at Knott's on a wednesday in the summer?

Probably at least 30 minutes, depends on what time of day though.

I just went last wednesday and it was pretty crowded.  It is basically summer now since colleges are out and the schools in that area are all out of school.

The longest line I had to wait in was about 100 min. for Bigfoot Rapids at around 4:00.

I also had to wait an hour for Silver Bullet and Perilous Plunge.  If you wait to ride those at around 6 or 7 instead of right when the park opens there will not be a long line.  I was able to walk on Silver Bullet 2 times later in the day.

Depends on the ride, but several of the bigger ones were up to 2.5 hours long. Not fun.

It is a site with user submitted times from the day that they were at the park, so I'd say its the most accurate it can get!
