How long is the cummute from San Marcos to San Diego?

My boyfriend is trying to talk me into moving to San Marcos but I go to SDSU and I am really afraid of the commute. I know that it's like 35 miles away but I think during rush hour it's like a 2 hour drive... Is that right????
