  1. There´s no airport in Gelsenkirchen, but in Dortmund, and it´s just 45minutes from Dortmund to Gelsenkirchen. But you can also go by car from Hamburg to Gelsenkirchen, it´s at about 300km and three or four hours on the motorway. Maybe you should look at www.de.map24.com  It shows you the direct route, but it´s in German. You have to write the adress from where you´ll start and the finishing adress into the fields of "Route berechnen"

  2. It's about four and a half to five hours driving. About four hours on the IC train. And about three hours on the ICE or the "Metropolitan" train from Hamburg to Duesseldorf. From Duesseldorf it's just 45 minutes to Gelsenkirchen on the regional train.

Gelsenkirchen is very easily connected to Dortmund's and Duesseldorf's airport.

  3. It is 3h 45 min by car (350 km). Be aware on the time you are driving. From 7 to 10 am and from 4 to 8 pm you should expect traffic jam troughout the the Hamburg & Bremen area and the last 30 km . Listen to the Local Radio Stations. From the motorway intersection Münster choose the motorway A 43 for the last 30 km. It should be less crowded.

  4. I don't know, how long is it?

  5. Gelsenkirchen doesn't have an airport so you will be better of taking the train from Gelsenkirchen to Hamburg. The ride on the train takes between 3h and 4h - depending on what sort of train you will take. Try this link to get more info: http://www.bahn.de/-S:PtVOSN:eOtZz9NNOlv...

The next airport with direct flights to Hamburg is Duesseldorf.
