We are taking a private shuttle, so there shouldn't be the stop and go of a group shuttle or public bus.

  1. We just took that ride last April when we stayed at Hotel Si Como No in Manuel Antonio.  It was a BEAUTIFUL 3 hour ride over the isthmus of Central America.  The shuttles usually stop about half way at a bridge where you can observe about 20 HUGE crocodiles that live in the river under the bridge.  There is a small restaurant there too, where you can use the bathroom, buy some souvenirs, or grab some food and drink.

After you leave the crocs, you'll finally make it to the coast where you will go over a few precarious steel one lane bridges.

Just sit back and enjoy the ride of your life.  Some of the roads that go over the mountains have VERY steep drop offs, and several have NO GUARDRAILS, so if you're afraid of heights don't look !!!!  Sometimes the shuttles have to pull over because there is only room for one car !!!  That was the toughest part.

    Pura Vida

  2. It takes about two and half to three hours drive, depending on traffic and the condition of the road.

I recommend you take the shuttle, either private or group. I don't know if the public bus will stop at the airport and it could take longer time.
