  1. Its not how long the education process is to become a CERTIFIED preschool teacher but having the passion and determination to become a CERTIFIED preschool teacher .

  2. It all depends on what state you live in. Most states have something called "Group Leader Qualification" which is a combination of experience and education. Contact the Department of Human Services for your state for more info.

  3. You need to get your Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, which usually takes 2 years.

  4. I am not sure where you live, however, in Ohio you can teach with a 2 year associate degree as long as your company is not NAEYC accredited. If your school is accredited, you must have your 4 year or bachelor degree.

  5. In my area you have to have an associate's degree in early childhood education. That takes an average of two years, but you may be able to complete it in a year and a half if you go to school during the summer. You can attend a community college to get this degree. And later, you may have the option of going back to school and obtaining your bachelor's in early childhood education, which will let you teach K-3rd.

You may want to research what your local colleges offer. My college offers a nanny program and a paraprofessional educator (teacher's aide) programs also. The nanny program takes only a semester and the teacher's aide program takes two years.

  6. If in Canada, British Columbia's program is 18 months-three semesters.  In Alberta they have level 1-3 and I believe level 1 is 40 hours training up to level 3 being a certificate.  Ontario's program is two years.
