How long is the ferry from Tswessen (sp.) to Victoria? ?

Hello, I am planning to take the ferry to Victoria and I was wondering how long the ride is?

The ferry from Tsawwassen to Victoria (Swartz Bay) covers 18 miles and takes 1 hour 40 minutes.  When you land in Swartz Bay the drive into Victoria takes about 1/2 hour.

If you're driving, it's:

110 minutes on the ferry (not including wait time) + 40 minute drive into downtown Victoria.

Total time of 150 minutes ( about 2.5 hours minimum)

If you're using transit (from downtown Vancouver), it's

120 minutes to get to Tsawwassen + 110 minutes

on the ferry + 180 minutes transit into downtown Victoria.

Total time of 410 minutes (nearly 7 hours)

or

Assuming you're already at the Tsawwassen ferry terminal

110 minute ferry ride + 180 minute bus ride into d/t Victoria

Total time of 290 minutes (nearly 5 hours).

After you figure the cost of gas, the ferry ticket, food and whatever you spend on the ferry; The best deal and least known secret is the seaplane straight out of downtown Vancouver, 45 minutes into downtown Victoria for a mere $140.

FYI, it is about $47 each way for a normal sized passenger car. Much less than has been stated here.

As mentioned, the ride is 95 minutes from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay (Victoria.) They usually say 100 minutes though for some reason - I suppose to be on the safe side. If you also take into consideration the travel time to the ferry, waiting for the ferry as you need to be early, boarding time, travel time, waiting to disembark, driving off, driving to Victoria from the ferry (20-30 minutes), the trip is much longer.

It is a beautiful trip through the southern gulf islands.
