  1. Passaic county NJ usually runs from 10 - 4 with an hour for lunch. So about 5 hours in the jury room. Not much different if you get on a trial. Judges don't work late usually.

  2. It can vary depending on whether or not you get put on a case your first day.  It shouldn't be longer than 8 hours.

Edit:  It is possible, even likely that you will be able to leave early.  But I wouldn't count on it.  You are at the mercy of the courts and they don't always run real quick.

  3. It all depends on the court system in your area.

  4. Depends. You could be there one or two hours or all friggin' day.

  5. Count on being there all day, it usually is that long.  and that way if you get out early, it will be a nice surprise.

  6. they do whatever they want to do, i think. pays pretty good. hard to get that job. just sit and drink coffee and you don't have to lift a finger.

  7. Ummmm....one day.

  8. It depends on how many juries they need to find that day.  I've been called twice.  One time I was there for 3 hours, the other time I was there all day.
